NLM Informatics Training Conference 2008 - Hotel and Picnic Shuttle Information

Transportation Information

Transportation is being provided as follows:

Round Trip: Hotel to Conference

The Washington Metropolitan Transit System (Metro) will be the mode of transportation between the hotels and the Natcher Conference Center, Building 45, on the campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
You will be provided a prepaid Metro card that will cover 2 days of round trip travel.
You must pick up your Metro card on Monday, July 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel. Your meals fee for the Informatics Training Conference must be paid before you can receive a Metro card.
The Twinbrook Metro stop is directly behind the Hilton Hotel. You will take the Red Line Metro towards Glenmont to the Medical Center stop which is at NIH.
You must proceed through Security to get a visitor’s badge to get onto campus.

Please be sure you bring a government issued photo ID with you.
Tell Security that you are participating in the NLM Informatics Training Conference.

NOTE: Allow for 30-45 minutes for transit and security clearance.
Proceed to the Natcher Conference Center which is Building 45. See attached map.

Picnic Shuttle

The picnic will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at the Strathmore Mansion from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
At 5:15 p.m., shuttle buses will leave from the Natcher Conference Center for the picnic. This will be the only pick time at Natcher.
Beginning at 5:45 p.m. and until 9:00 p.m., shuttle buses will circulate between the hotels and Strathmore Mansion.
NOTE: The last bus will depart from Strathmore Mansion for the hotels at 9:15 p.m.
