TRI Timeline

1979   •   Anthony Lee establishes Technical Resources International as a one-man, minority-owned company specializing in research/development and professional services in biomedical/health, environmental, and technology development fields.
1980   •   TRI is admitted into Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) program.
1987   •   Inc. Magazine lists TRI among the "Inc. 500."
1988   •   TRI recognized as one of Washington Technology's "Fast 50," the 50 fastest-growing companies in the region.
    •   TRI successfully graduates from SBA 8(a) program.
1990   •   Nora Lee elected Chairman of the Board and appointed President & CEO, making TRI an Hispanic, woman-owned organization.
1993   •   TRI acquires The Bruce Company, provider of consulting services in marketing and communication of environmental programs.
1994   •   TRI completes merger with The Bruce Company.
    •   National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) recognizes TRI as one of the Top 50 women-owned businesses in the Washington metropolitan area.
1995   •   NAWBO again recognizes TRI as one of the Top 50 women-owned businesses in the Washington area.
1999   •   TRI launches its Contract Research Organization operations.
2000   •   TRI moves its headquarters to Bethesda, Maryland.
    •   TRI wins entry into the federal government's General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule, which allows federal government customers to acquire more than four million services and products directly from private commercial suppliers.
2002   •   TRI is awarded inclusion in National Institutes of Health (NIH) umbrella contract.


TRI Today

TRI is headquartered at 6500 Rock Spring Drive, in Bethesda, Maryland. The company also maintains a branch office in Taipei,Taiwan.

TRI has ongoing or has successfully completed nearly 350 contracts for a total value of more than $232 million. These contracts, many of which were/are multi-year projects, are in support of health programs - both biomedical research & health communications - and environmental & energy research and marketing programs.
